While travelling between tiny villages outside Hoi An in Vietnam I came across a flooded rice paddy where a farmer was netting fish in the shallow water. He saw me looking over at him so walked up to say hello. What struck me first was his eyes and his beaming smiling. With limited english we exchanged pleasantries and discussed the water buffalo in the distance. As I left him after our brief encounter I could not stop thinking about him how his enthusiasm for life just washed across his face. I aimed to capture his zest for life and beaming smiling face in this portrait I call Hoi An Farmer.
