About

Australian artist creating one-off original paintings

This is me

I am an Australian artist based in Scarborough, just North of Brisbane in Queensland. I create and sell my original artwork and prints to clients worldwide. Painting is what I do, it runs deep in my soul, it is what I am good at and my reputation is growing because of it.

My passion for painting fuels me

Here is what I do

I lovingly create one-off original paintings. Every step in the process is done by me. Even my website is all done by me. I painstakingly render every brushstroke and take every photo you see of my art here on my site and social media.

How I do what I do

I have perfected my craft over decades to produce paintings my clients adore. I work predominantly with oils but have dabbled a bit in acrylics as well. Being a keen traveller, I get inspiration for paintings from various trips around the world. The sights, the scenes, the culture and the people form the subjects of many of my works.

My mantra

I work very hard. I firmly believe you cannot produce anything great if you do not put in the long hours and extraordinary effort needed. I never settle for mediocre, each painting needs to be an improvement on the previous one, I’m not happy unless it is.

My back story

Growing up in the suburbs of Sydney my earliest recollection of being interested in art was doing those colour by numbers paintings. I absolutely loved it, I was hooked. At school I excelled at art and not too bad at maths either. My first job was as a design draftsman for a large design and construction company, producing architectural and engineering designs along with perspective drawings and artistic building renderings.

Then the internet came along and I did a career pivot into IT and internet technologies. I had my own business for a while helping businesses, both in the private and public sectors, achieve their online goals with web platform solutions and content management.

My artistic career took off in 2005 when I moved the family up to Scarborough on the shores of Moreton Bay. This move to Queensland was the change in life I needed. It reset my focus and ended up being the catalyst for rekindling my love and passion for painting.
